If you are thinking about relocating to the US, contact our expert team below.

Why You Should Relocate to the United States

One of the biggest reasons people are taking their lives to the US is for financial reasons. Many investors want to take advantage of the highly developed and efficient United States financial markets. They also want to diversify their portfolio to protect from market risk. Investing in offshore markets can protect your portfolio from domestic market volatility. Other investors are relocating and investing in the US because they already have strong ties to the country through trade flows, business activity, or even having a common language. There are also several personal reasons a person may choose the US. Many see the United States as a cultural melting pot, with immigrants from all over the world establishing their lives there. Some also enjoy the diverse terrain found in the country, with wide-open rural regions, thriving metropolises, and everything in between. Some areas of the world are consistently warm and close to the beautiful coast. Other regions experience four seasons, all with their own beauty and appeal. Some places are dry desserts with picturesque scenery. No matter what you are looking for in your new home, there’s no doubt you can find it in the United States.

How to Relocate to the United States

Now that we have looked at some of the reasons people will relocate to the United States let us take a look at some of the ways to make it happen. The first two options, the EB-5 and E-2, are known as residency by investment options. I want to note that these are just three examples of how to move to the United States. To discover the best fit for you, contact our expert team below.

EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program (Permanent Residence)

With the EB-5 visa, investors can obtain permanent residency in the US through qualified investments. To qualify for the program, foreign investors must meet the requirements set by United States Citizenship and Immigration (USCIS). With this program, after all of the qualifications are met, applicants, their spouse, and any children under the age of 21 will obtain a permanent residency card. E2 Treaty Investor (2 Year Visa)

The E-2 is a way for individuals from certain countries to work and live in the United States. With this option, investors can build their own business as a foreign entrepreneur. The program grants nonimmigrants who make a substantial amount of capital in a United States business. The investor must also be a national of a country with which the US maintains a treaty of commerce and navigation, qualifying international agreement, or deems a qualifying country. The initial visa is a two-year stay but can be extended by an additional two years with no limit as to how many times you can renew. Click here to read more about the E-2 investor program.

H-1B (Nonimmigrant specialty occupations visa)

The H-1B is an employment-based, nonimmigrant visa for individuals looking to work and live in the US temporarily. This visa is employer-sponsored, which means an employer must offer a job and petition an individual’s H-1B visa with the United States immigration department. H-1B hopefuls must meet basic education requirements of holding a bachelor’s or higher degree as well as qualified to meet the job requirements described by the employer. The initial visa is a three-year stay and can be extended for up to an additional three years. As of January 2021, newly elected President Joe Biden has made some changes to this visa, which are highly favorable for many individuals hoping to work in the US. As part of the US Citizenship Act of 2021, Biden eliminated per-country limits, making it easier for graduates of US universities with advanced degrees in STEM fields to stay in the country. For the H-1B specifically, many Indian IT professionals were greatly affected, with the previous seven percent per country quota. Click here to read more about Joe Biden’s immigration changes.
